History of the Sampo logo published
The history of the Sampo logo has been published today on Sampo’s website at www.sampo.com/logo, together with a short animation on the subject. They tell the story of the logo and how it came to be a household name in Finland. The history is available in Finnish and English.
The current Sampo logo was designed by Kyösti Varis in 1980 and updated in the early 2000s. The logomark was entitled “Samposopimus”, referring to the Sampo Agreement launched in late 1970s.
- I wanted Sampo’s logomark to symbolize the strong and secure union and cooperation between insurance company and customer, says Kyösti Varis, the designer interviewed for the now published history of the Sampo logo.
The history of the Sampo logo goes back to the company’s founding in 1909. The Sampo of today is an insurance group consisting of Sampo plc, the listed parent company of the Sampo Group, and insurance subsidiaries If, Topdanmark, Hastings and Mandatum that each operate under their own logo, visual image and brand strategy.
